Mini-Bio on Angela:

I was born in Liverpool England and a proud LFC fan, I am what you call a scouser, that being said I emigrated to Canada in 1993 and have lived in Canmore/Banff in Alberta and then Nakusp & now Revelstoke in beautiful British Columbia.
I opened my first travel agency in Canmore Alberta back in 1996 when I was 26 and then opened up Travel Escapes in 2018 here in Revelstoke. My family are all skiers so we have lived in the most stunning mountain resort towns that Canada has to offer.

I have 30+ years of travel sales and management, and ownership for 24 of those years. When I am not travelling I am managing an amazing team of travel consultants and also enjoy training our new consultants who range from being clients of mine, retired RCMP officers and hobbyist travellers who love the planning process.

I have travelled to many far corners of this beautiful planet, and over the years I find myself enjoying things I may have thought a bit boring when I was in my 20's, back then I was happy to go to shut down week in Ibiza and party my butt off at Amnesia. Now I love to wander the Ufizzi Gallery in Florence and stare at an Artemisia Gentileschi painting. I will actually get up for a sunrise and enjoy a cup of tea off the back of a ship when in the port of Santorini and I will watch a theatrical show in Abruzzese, a local Italian dialect and love every second. I also enjoyed my wine tasting in the Chianti Classico region this year and had a fantastic lunch paired with fantastic wines from a smaller family run winery.

What I love best is to share my years of knowledge and passion for travel with mine and my teams clients to procure the very best experiences for them.

My Travel Style:

Life is pretty sweet when you have a private boat meet you at Venice Airport and you are transferred with your friends to the JW Marriott Venice located on its own island, I do like to travel in style and always have a lot of fun doing so.

I also enjoy getting a lymphatic massage when I arrive after a long haul flight to relieve the swelling and get myself adjusted to a new time zone.

I enjoy river cruising with AMA Waterways and I spent a lazy week on the Rhone and Soane Rivers in the South of France. The level of service with the crew as well as the quality of the Michelin star dining is second to none, I cant wait to go again in 2023.

Now I also love a bit of adventure and I am hosting a small group to adventure with me around Morocco in 2023, myself and 12 others with our own private guide, a private driver and miles and miles of adventure including a camel ride into the desert for an over night bedouin camp out. Accommodations are more simple and this trip to to completely immerse ourselves into this exotic culture of North Africa with hints of Europe in it.

I also love to fly to destination, have a car rental waiting for me and either book an old stone cottage near the beaches of North Wales, or stay in a Trulli in Alberobello Italy so long as I am driving road trips can be so much fun overseas.

Recently returned from:

  • A road trip around Italy including Matera & Alberobello
  • Another visit to the Ufizzi Gallery in Florence
  • Cooking classes on the Amalfi Coast
  • Beach days in Pineto, located in Abruzzo Italy
  • Wandering the beaches of North Wales & went to my nieces wedding.
  • A two week Princess Cruise of the Mediterranean from Athens to Rome visiting Greece, Italy, Sicily Montenegro, France, Spain & Gibraltar
  • New York - we went to see Billy Joel at MSG and his crew gifted us front row seats, I am still pinching myself
  • Riviera Maya Mexico - we travelled with family and spent 10 lovely and lazy days at Sandos Playacar all inclusive resort. I did some site inspections of the new Margaritaville Island Reserve, which will be my next stay when I am there

Dreaming of:

  • Always Italy.....
  • Morocco - I am hosting a small group in 2023
  • AMA River Cruise - I am hosting a river cruise in 2023
  • The Destination Wedding I am coordinating for my niece in 2023

Two thing's I can't travel without:

  • My eye mask/covering
  • My AirPods

Two truths about me:

  • I actually do not like flying but it never stops me
  • I panic if I do not have at least two trips planned ahead for me

Favourite Hotels:

SINA VILLA MEDICI - FLORENCE

I have stayed here four times and spent maybe three weeks in total at Villa Medici, the staff have been there for years which speaks volumes as they are all so happy and helpful. The suite I had in August this year was huge with dual aspect windows, two balconies and two bathrooms, a large living and large bedroom with king sized bed. The breakfasts are fantastic with a wide variety to choose from, Harrys Bar is located in this hotel also and is a very casual laid back atmosphere there. The outdoor pool and garden are perfect for a hot summers day to cool off as not many hotels in central Florence offer pools.

JW MARRIOTT VENICE

I spent five days here in September 2021 and the hotel is on its very own private island, there are so many room types from your double with balcony to larger junior suites, maisonettes, private homes and a massive villa with its own pool and staff. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to Venice and drops you right at St Marks Square which is very convenient. The spa here is ranked the top in Italy in 2020-2021 and I had the absolute best. Now lets talk about that roof top pool that overlooks the Venice skyline, it is very warm and lovely to swim in even in October when I was last there. The roof top bar and restaurant is worth spending time at too.

GRANDE BRETAGNE - ATHENS

I have stayed here a few times over the years and it just improves each and every visit, it is a central as you can be as its across from the government building (tomb of the unknown soldier). You can easily walk to Monistraki and The Plaka however, the level of service here is top shelf, this hotel is under the "Luxury Hotels" brand with Marriott and it has earned its way there by offering a decadent building, sumptuous suites with frette cotton linens, turndown services and beautiful amenities in the bathrooms which are marble on marble marble, with sparkle and gold. The roof top pool is perfect and when I stayed in August 2021 it was the only place we wanted to be during the 40 degree weather outside. Ice cold beers served in frosted glasses by the pool - perfecto!
